Abstract
The present experiments demonstrate that multiparous females ingest mo re calcium that virgin females. In two experiments, we demonstrated th at multiparous females ingested more calcium than virgin females, and both ingested larger amounts than males. The biological basis for this enhanced avidity for calcium lie in the greater needs for calcium dur ing reproduction.
