In the course of the investigation of the low temperature specific hea
t of selectively deuterated DCNQI-Cu system with the special interest
in the mysterious Metal-Insulator (M-I) transition, we observed an ext
raordinary excess specific heat around 6K, whose magnitude depends on
the distribution of deuteron in (DMe-DCNQI)(2)Cu. Experimental results
predict that the anomalous terms are caused by excess entropies assoc
iated with the arrangement of the deuteron in Methyl molecules.
