Cg. Dossantos et al., PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF MIXED CHARACTER LANGMUIR-BLODGETT-FILMS OF POLY-HEXA-DECYLTHIOPHENE, Synthetic metals, 71(1-3), 1995, pp. 2083-2084
Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR) and Grazing Angle Incidence (GIR) sp
ectroscopic techniques are used for the structural investigation of La
ngmuir-Blodgett films resulting from the mixture of different relative
concentrations of chemically synthesized poly-3-hexadecylthiophene (P
HDT) and behenic acid. Due to the low hydrophilicity of the thiophene
ring, the inclusion of fatty acid molecules is required to stabilize t
he Langmuir film formed in the air-water interface. This film can then
be transferred on sucessive down strokes of a vertically dipped subst
rate to form head-to-tail structures.
