Kn. Sabharwal et al., EXTRACTION OF URANIUM BY MACROPOROUS BIFUNCTIONAL PHOSPHINIC ACID RESIN, Solvent extraction and ion exchange, 13(3), 1995, pp. 561-574
The extraction of U(VI), Th(IV) and a number of fission products from
nitric acid medium by a newly synthesised macroporous bifunctional pho
sphinic acid resin has been studied. The extraction of uranium from su
lphuric acid medium has also been studied. While the gel type phosphin
ic acid resins seems to pose a number of problems in practical applica
tions, the macroporous type resins are shown to be suitable for a vari
ety of applications where conventional ion exchange resins are of limi
ted use.
