Abstract
A Small assemblage of millimetric black carbonaceous compressions from the Wynniatt Formation of the Shaler Supergroup includes Chuaria circ ularis, Tawuia dalensis and Beltina danai. Also present are string-lik e remains that may be either pyritized vendotaeniacean filaments or sm all burrow fills. The occurrence of Tawuia is only the second known fr om North America. The presence of the Tawuia-Chuaria assemblage provid es important corroborating evidence for correlation of the Wynniatt Fo rmation of the Minto Inlier with the upper part of the Little Dal Grou p of the Mackenzie Mountains 1000 km to the southwest.
