S. Venugopal et M. Krishnamurthy, MISSILE AERODYNAMICS AT HIGH ANGLES OF ATTACK - A PREDICTION CODE, Journal of spacecraft and rockets, 32(2), 1995, pp. 263-269
A computer code MAHAA has been developed for estimating the aerodynami
c characteristics of cruciform missile configurations at high angles o
f attack (up to 30 deg), with arbitrary control deflections (+/-25 deg
) and nonzero roll angle (0 less than or equal to phi < 90 deg). The p
rediction code is based on the equivalent-angle-of-attack technique. I
t combines semiempirical methods, theoretical methods, and correlated
databases. The code has been validated over a wide range of missile co
nfigurations and night parameters, The overall capabilities of the cod
e have been compared with nine other missile aeroprediction codes. The
se studies have demonstrated the capability of the code for preliminar
y design of missile configurations.
