Abstract
According to AES and XPS results, the oxidation state of In in Pb1-xIn xTe (x = 0.056) is lower than in In2Te3, corresponding to In+ as the m ajor state. The bond valence sum calculations show that In atoms more readily occupy the octahedral sites, substituting for lead. (C) 1995 A cademic Press, Inc.
