Jf. Burris, THE EXPANDING ROLE OF ANGIOTENSIN-CONVERTING ENZYME-INHIBITORS IN THEMANAGEMENT OF HYPERTENSION, Journal of clinical pharmacology, 35(4), 1995, pp. 337-342
Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are increasingly import
ant in antihypertensive therapy because of their efficacy, tolerabilit
y, and specific benefits in subsets of patients. They are pharmacologi
cally diverse. Whereas most benefits have been proven with older agent
s (captopril, enalopril), newer agents, such as benazepril, quinapril,
and ramipril, offer potential advantages that remain to be proven.
