Abstract
A calculation of the sensitivity of a wafer-shaped electromagnetic vel ocity probe is presented. This takes into account the electric and/or magnetic effect of a plane wall near the probe and thus gives some ide a of possible errors due to pipe walls in electromagnetic probe veloci ty profile scanning. The concepts of surface and vorticity weight vect ors are introduced and the potential of the former for electromagnetic probe calculations is indicated.
