Abstract
Fast atom bombardment is used for the mass spectrometric characterizat ion of a new class of amphiphilic derivatives of 17 beta-estradiol. Th e choice of the matrix is discussed. Under negative ion conditions, th e deprotonated molecular ion is observed together with diagnostic frag ment ions. The molecular mass confirmation is achieved in the positive ion mode by cationisation with sodium.
