The recently discovered first order rotational correction to the nucle
on axial-vector coupling constant g(A) within the framework of the chi
ral quark soliton model appears to provide us with an unexpectedly sim
ple solution to the long-standing g(A) problem in the Skyrme model. A
prominent feature of this special type of 1/N-c correction is that the
corresponding effect is entirely missing in the Skyrme model. We try
to clarify the underlying mathematical reason why such a crucial diffe
rence appears between these two intimately-connected effective theorie
s of baryons.
