A new approach has been used for the analysis of physical processes in
electrical machines with electromagnetic speed reduction. It has been
shown that a magnetic conductance wave revolving in space with a spee
d considerably exceeding the speed of the rotor is produced in machine
s with a developed bilateral tooth arrangement. For its synchronizatio
n with the fundamental harmonic of the stator m.m.f., the speed of the
rotor must be many times lower than the speed of m.m.f, rotation. Fea
tures of the physical processes in various types of machine with elect
romagnetic speed reduction have been considered.
