Ai. Inkin et Va. Tropin, AN APPROACH TO THE DESIGN OF EQUIVALENT-CIRCUITS FOR THE ROTOR-AIR GAP BOUNDARY-LAYER OF A ROTATING INDUCTION MACHINE, ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY, (4), 1994, pp. 27-38
Some elements of induction machine theory based on the principles of e
lectrodynamics of moving media and Poynting's theorem have been studie
d. Results of the theoretical work carried out on the boundary layer b
etween the rotating rotor of an induction machine acid the air gap are
given. Two types of equivalent circuit for the boundary layer are der
ived: the first reduces to the conventional equivalent circuit for a s
tationary model, and the second, besides a power source, incorporates
a special power source converter. It is proposed that this ''source''
be called an ''electromechanical source'' denoted by a special symbol
in the equivalent circuit of an induction motor. An equivalent circuit
with the ''electromechanical source'' in a rotor branch is recommende
d for use in the design of controlled induction motors and self-contai
ned induction generators.
