Abstract
Arguments going back to Bridgman relate longitudinal and transverse tr ansport coefficients. In particular, Ettingshausen, Thomson and Hall c oefficients are thereby interconnected. By exploiting both one- and tw o-band models, the Ettingshausen coefficient is microscopically connec ted to the Hall coefficient. This leads to a formula which relates the rmoelectric power linearly to the Hall coefficient. Data for high T-c superconductors in the normal state supports such a direct correlation between these properties.
