Abstract
A simple optical method for measurements of high-irradiance (3.10(13) W/cm(2)) laser-induced shock waves is described. The shock wave veloci ty (similar to 13 km/s) was measured with an error not exceeding 5%. T he laser-induced one-to-two-dimensional shock wave transition was stud ied.
