Abstract
The dynamic behavior of degenerate four-wave mixing is investigated fo r a recently reported grating mechanism based on the light-shift. It i s shown that the time dependence of the phase-conjugated signal is det ermined by the interplay of thermal diffusion and the spatial variatio n of the light-shift grating.
