We consider a mixed spin-glass model defined in terms of two groups of
spins, XY and p-state clock variables, respectively; the interactions
are infinite-range-like and between distinct groups only. An anisotro
py parameter D-p, which favours p directions in the plane, is introduc
ed for the XY variables, such that one can interpolate between the XY
(D-p = O; p --> infinity) and p-state clock (D-p --> infinity) models.
We implement Parisi's replica-symmetry-breaking Ansatz and analyse th
e different types of order-parameter functions. An special attention i
s dedicated to the case p = 3, for which an interesting crossover is o
bserved.
