Abstract
Amorphization was achieved by room-temperature 200 keV xenon ion mixin g in Zr-Mo multilayered films. In addition, two new Mo-based metastabl e crystalline phases were obtained, which were of Fee and HCP structur es, respectively. A Gibbs free-energy diagram that concerns the free-e nergy curves of the amorphous phase and the terminal solid solutions w as constructed to give related thermodynamic explanations to the obser vations.
