Abstract
We report the results of positron lifetime and Doppler-broadening meas urements in Pd-In beta Hume-Rothery alloys. The combination of these t echniques gave new insights into the defect structure of annealed and quenched samples of different compositions. The existence of thermal I n vacancies for some compositions has been confirmed.
