Abstract
An InGaAs/InP pin waveguide photodetector with a 3 dB roll-off frequen cy of 39 GHz using a simple design is reported. The two-tone spurious- free dynamic range of an external modulation fibre optic link employin g the waveguide photodetector is measured and is in excess of 110dB/Hz (2/3) for a photocurrent of 5 mA.
