Yl. Li et al., POLY(N-VINYLCARBAZOLE) AND POLYPYRROLE COMPOSITES SYNTHESIZED BY LASER-ELECTROCHEMICAL POLYMERIZATION, Synthetic metals, 72(1), 1995, pp. 41-44
A black and flexible film of poly(N-vinylcarbazole)-polypyrrole (PVK-P
PY) composite with conductivity of 10 S/cm at room temperature was syn
thesized by laser-electrochemical polymerization. The conductivity of
PVK-PPY composites synthesized by laser-electrochemical polymerization
was enhanced by one order magnitude compared with electrochemical pol
ymerization due to photoelectrochemical or photochemical reaction and
a thermal effect introduced by laser irradiation during electrochemica
l polymerization. Effects of the ratio of PVK to pyrrole monomer, lase
r energy density and wavelength on the structure and conductivity of t
he resulting composites are discussed.
