ON THE QUESTION OF HYDROGEN-SULFIDE VERTI CAL-DISTRIBUTION IN DEEP WATERS OF THE BLACK-SEA

The question of conservativity and mechanisms of hydrogen sulfide and ammonium distribution in deep waters of the Black Sea were considered. The deviations from H2S conservative distribution below 200 m are not observed at all or can be identified in 250 - 750 m layer due to prec ipitation of Fe-sulfides (pyrite) in this zone. The process of double diffusion is likely to have considerable contribution at the thermohal ine characteristics, H2S and NH4+ distribution below 750 m. The isopic nical mechanism of entrainment has the preferential effect in the uppe r part of the hydrogen sulfide zone.
