THE PARTICIPATION OF GELATIOUS ANIMALS IN THE FORMATION OF NEUTRAL PROTEASES POOL IN THE SEA-WATER

The influence of products excreted by the Black Sea Gelatious animals: jellyfish Aurelia aurita and ctenophors Mnemiopsis leidyi and Pleurob rachia pileus upon the formation of proteases pool was investigated ex perimentally. The measurements of rates and kinetios of ezymatic hydro lyses of proteins in the sea water were carried out. The mucus proteol ytic activity of the ctenophore Mnemiopsis leidyi was found to be abou t 8 times greater than in the sea water. The importance of enzimatic a ctivity process in the trophic relationships and the composition of or ganic matter in the sea water is discussed.
