Abstract
Nine samples of water suspensions from the Atlantic and Pacific oceans and one sample of aeolian dust from the English Channel have been stu died for the content of 43 macro- and microelements. The results were compared with typical compositions of possible sources of water suspen sions using Q-method of the factor analysis which showed equal role of biogenic and terrigenous sources.
