Abstract
This article introduces a numerical technique for solving the inverse ploblem in dispersive scattering theory. The inverse problem is first formulated as a relationship between the impulse response R and the su sceptibility kernel G. Using the Legendre-Gauss-Lobatto nodes we const ruct the Nth polynomial interpolation to approximate the solution of G for a given R. This method is efficient and yields very accurate resu lts. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed method. (C) 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
