Structure of the surface intermediates in heterogeneous catalytic reac
tions obtained on the base of spectral (mainly IR-spectral) measuremen
ts is studied. A gradation of trustworthiness degree of the role of de
finite structures is performed: the lower degree - on the base of the
spectra before and after catalysis, the middle degree - on the base of
spectral data in situ, but without kinetic measurements, and the high
er degree - on the base of spectral data in situ together with the com
parison of the reaction kinetics and the kinetics of the surface compo
unds concentration changes. Schemes of heterogeneous catalytic reactio
ns mechanisms on the base of the information about surface complexes a
