Abstract
Marine Ascomycotina (Pyrenomycetes, Halosphaeriales) Arenariomyces tri furcatus and Corollospora maritima were found on beach sand grains att ached to drift wood; Holosphaeria appendiculata and Remispora maritima were found on driftwood collected from a sandy beach on the south coa st of Ireland. This report is the first record of these fungi from Ire land. Preparation techniques for scanning electron microscopy are give n and electron micrographs of the fungi are presented.
