Fh. Linthicum et al., CONSTITUENTS OF THE ENDOLYMPHATIC TUBULES AS DEMONSTRATED BY 3-DIMENSIONAL MORPHOMETRY, Acta oto-laryngologica, 115(2), 1995, pp. 246-250
The various constituents of the tubules of the human adult intraosseou
s endolymphatic sac were stained with lectins and Millon reaction to r
eveal some of the carbohydrate and protein-containing substances in th
e endolymph. The amount of each substance was determined by digitizing
sequential temporal bone sections. Differing amounts of the various i
dentified substances were found in sacs from patients with Meniere's d
isease, patients with labyrinthine fibrosis, and controls.
