Abstract
Feasibilities of heat pipes application for the heat transfer out of p lasma facing components in test and power fusion reactors are discusse d. Based on the space technology and practice the ''hot'' ITER first w all with liquid metal and water heat pipes are proposed in two options : heat-pipes and vapor-chamber options. Other high heat loading in-ves sel elements such as divertor target and limiter can be provided by ef fective and reliable heat pipe cooling systems.
