Abstract
The solubilities and the refractive indexes of saturated solutions of the titled system at 30 degrees C have been studied and the correspoun ding equilibrium diagram and refractive index diagram were constructed . Both solubility curve and refractive index curve of the system consi st of three branches, correspounding to ACAP, Sm(ACAP)(2)(NO3)(3) and Sm(NO3)(3) . 6H(2)O respectively. The Sm(ACAP)(2)(NO3)(3) is a new com pound. It was characterized by chemical and elemental analysis, IR spe ctra, TG-DTG and molar conductivity (in DMF). The influences of the an ion on the interaction between the ACAP and the rare earth ion has bee n discussed briefly.
