Thermovoltage in semiconductor thin layers and films is theoretically
studied. Mn any-valley u-Si type semiconductors with sample thicknesse
s, of the order of the electron cooling length and/or intervalley rela
xation length, are considered. The size of feet of thermovoltage is sh
own to occur for the above thickness values even without magnetic fiel
d. Due to the size effect not only the longitudinal voltage but also t
rasverse one can arise; its value highly depends on orientation of the
crystal axes.
