Thermodynamic properties of sodium in liquid binary amalgams Tl-Hg, In
-Hg, Cd-Hg, Bi-Hg and Cs-Hg have been studied by the emf method. The a
ctivity coefficients of sodium for infinitely diluted solutions at 597
K were calculated using experimental data and the lattice models of B
lander, and Alcock and Richardson. The existence of the Henry region c
haracteristic of uniformly diluted solution was estimated. A method fo
r the prediction of gamma(Na)(infinity) values for other ternary amalg
ams having similar properties has been proposed.
