Dw. Cox et al., REPORT OF THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON HUMAN-CHROMOSOME-14 MAPPING 1994, Cytogenetics and cell genetics, 69(3-4), 1995, pp. 160-171
The second international workshop on human chromosome 14 mapping was h
eld at St. Anne's College, Oxford, UK, September 1 to 3, 1994. There w
ere 33 participants from ten countries (Australia, Belgium, Canada, Fr
ance, Germany, Japan, Norway, South Africa, United Kingdom and United
States), as indicated in the participant list with this report. Furthe
r chromosome 14 information can be found in the report of the first wo
rkshop, in 1993 (Cox, 1994). Papers were presented on the first full d
ay of the workshop and the data from the presentations were posted for
the duration of the workshop. The titles of abstracts of work present
ed and of four abstracts submitted by individuals who were unable to a
ttend (A. Choo, M. Hulten, J. Murray, and R. Tanzi) are found at the e
nd of the report. The full abstracts are available from the Genome Dat
a Base (GDB). Three data bases were demonstrated: GDB version 5.2 by C
hris Porter, IGD (Integrated Genomic Database), a data base integratin
g with several other data bases in graphic form, by Otto Ritter, and t
he Comparative Database by Jo Dicks and Michelle Kirby. Working groups
met on the second day to collate data and prepare reports.
