Abstract
The presence oi a monoclonal gammopathy in patients with chronic scler edema is a recently described, unusual association of unknown signific ance. There have been very occasional reports of multiple myeloma in s uch patients. We now report a patient with long-standing scleredema wh o developed an IgA-kappa multiple myeloma. Once chemotherapy for the m yeloproliferative disorder was instituted, scleredema improved signifi cantly, suggesting a pathogenetic link between the two conditions.
