Abstract
This work describes the synthesis and infrared, uv-visible, H-1 nmr an d electrochemical characterisation of azacyclophanes and naphthalocyan ines ligands and some Ni-II Cu-II, Co-II and Zn-II complexes. The char acterisation of some non commercial precursors of these compounds is a lso informed. The results show that the ligands and complexes are esse ntially planar, their optical properties are similar to those found in phthalocyanines and some ligands stabilises Ni-I or Cu-I at potential s less than 1 V vs ESC. In order to increase the solubility of these s ystems in polar solvents, some alternatives sulphonation are proposed.
