Abstract
Comproportionation of Cp(2)Zr(OTf)(2) and Cp(2)Zr(BH4)(2) (Cp = C5H5; OTf = OSO2CF3) gives Cp(2)ZrBH(4)(OTf) (1). Reaction of 1 with NEt(3) yields Cp(2)ZrH(OTf) (2), which was crystallized from THF to yield dim eric [Cp(2)Zr(OSO2CF3)(mu-H)](2) . 0.5THF (2b). The structure of 2b wa s determined by X-ray methods. Reaction of 2 with hexene, (trimethylsi lyl)acetylene, and (t)BuCN yields Cp(2)Zr(hexyl)(OTf), Cp(2)Zr[CH = CH (SiMe(3))](OTf), and Cp(2)Zr[N = C((t)Bu)H](OTf), respectively.
