Abstract
The kinetics and mechanisms of nitrogen isotopic exchange between nitr ite ion or nitric oxide and nitrosyl group in six-coordinate transitio n metal complexes comprising linear MNO fragment have been studied. Th e lability of the M-NO linkage in compounds of [MNOX5]q (M = Fe, Ru, X = CN, q = -2; M = Cr, X = CN, q = -3; M = Ru, Os, X = Cl, Br, q = -2; M = Ru, X = NH3, q = +3) has been shown to be dependent upon its stre ngth and electrophilic properties of coordinated NO.
