J. Haber et al., SURFACE-STRUCTURE AND CATALYTIC ACTIVITY OF MGF2 SUPPORTED TUNGSTEN-OXIDE, Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Chemistry, 42(3), 1994, pp. 361-376
Tungsten oxides supported on MgF2 prepared by impregnation and precipi
tation-deposition methods were studied. The X-ray photoelectron spectr
a (XPS) studies revealed that the oxy-anions of tungstic acid in the f
orm of hydroxylated species and the WO(x) tetrahedra or octahedra were
formed on the surface of WO3/MgF2 samples. Formation of these complex
es resulted in the appearance of a significant Lewis and Bronsted acid
ity, which were responsible for the activity in reactions of isomeriza
tion of cyclohexene, 2-propanol decomposition and cumene cracking.
