Abstract
There are three reported observations of pseudotwins in B2 alloys. It is argued here that pseudotwinning using the usual b.c.c. twinning mod e is impossible if the alloys are fully ordered. The argument is based on energetic grounds, using first-principles quantum mechanical calcu lations.
