Abstract
Communications: Ionic transition metal compounds which exhibit mesomor phism in aqueous systems are reported. These oxovanndium-based surfact ants display binary (surfactant/H2O) and ternary (surfactant/H2O-decan ol) mesomorphism and represent a step towards the development of lyotr opic materials with large magnetic anisotropies.
