Abstract
Communication: The charge transport and storage mechanisms in pi-doped oligothiophenes can be better understood through a more profound know ledge of their optical excitations. These materials hale been investig ated using a quantum-chemical approach. results which can also be appl ied to the interpretation of the experimental data reported for other conjugated oligomers based on the pyrrole, phenylene and phenyleneviny lene systems.
