Abstract
The use of adhesives in packaging is described. Both natural product a nd synthetic adhesives used in the industry are then discussed, with e xamples of their specific applications and estimates of their market s hare given. The paper goes on to present examples of packaging systems , detailing the way in which specific adhesives are employed in attain ing the design requirements. Finally, future developments for adhesive s in the packaging industry are addressed.
