Abstract
Neutron measurement in fusion experimental reactors is very important for burning plasma diagnostics and control, monitoring of irradiation effects on device components, neutron source characterization for in-s itu engineering tests etc. A conceptual design of neutron diagnostic s ystems for an International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER)- like fusion experimental reactor is made, which consists of a neutron yield monitor, a neutron emission profile monitor and a 14 MeV neutron spectrometer. Each of them is based on a unique idea to meet the requ ired performances for full power conditions assumed at ITER operation. The final design results and expected performances of the promising n eutron diagnostic systems are presented together with their critical d esign issues.
