One electric and one magnetic station were installed in Greece, near t
he city of loannina, the capital of Epirus, in July 1993 and April 199
4 respectively. In this paper, we first analyse the different regular
components, always present, of the electric signal using magnetograms.
It is then possible to detect and characterize rarer events whose sou
rce is unknown. They may be generated by industrial activities, but ma
y also be natural, tectonoelectric signals. The VAN station of IOA, 5.
5 km from our telluric station, is the one which provided the largest
number of events claimed to be Seismo Electric Signals (SES) by the VA
N group. In some cases, SES were announced on the same days as we obse
rved these rare events. Recordings are continuing.
