Abstract
A novel C-28 tetraglycoside of quillaic acid (1) has been isolated fro
m Gypsophila capillaris. The structure was elucidated by 1D NMR (NOE d
ifference. DEFT, selective C-13{H-1} INEPT), 2D NMR (H-1,H-1 and H-1,C
-13 COSY,H-1,H-1,H-1 RELAY, POESY and TOCSY) and other spectroscopic a
nd chromatographic evidences. Conformational dynamics within the tetra
saccharide part were estimated from NOE responses and ROESY peaks.
