The functional analysis of prehistoric lithic material tries, in most
cases, to identify the materials that have been worked and the tools'
movements, through observation of microscopic wear-traces (micropolish
es, edge-damage, and striations) on edges that have been used. This st
udy shows how an integrated analysis of wear-traces and the tools' mor
phology and resharpening opens up wider possibilities for the understa
nding of technological behaviour patterns.
