APPLICATIONS OF CAPILLARY ZONE ELECTROPHORESIS AND MICELLAR ELECTROKINETIC CHROMATOGRAPHY IN CANCER-RESEARCH

The purpose of this communication is to illustrate the utility and adv antages of capillary zone electrophoresis and micellar electrokinetic chromatography in cancer research. In our laboratory, both techniques have been used to explore many aspects of cancer research from the sea rch for biological markers in urine, serum and tissue, to epidemiologi cal studies, to the exploration of anti-cancer drugs in plant material s and marine organisms. Both CE and MEKC have proven to be useful in s olving problems which faced us. We present a series of examples which illustrates the application of these techniques to problems faced by o ur laboratory.
