Abstract
In this Note, we generalize the Calogero-Cohn bound on tile number of bound states in the S-wave for a purely attractive and non-decreasing potential vanishing at infinity to the case where the potential, purel y attractive as before, is not necessarily monotone, and can therefore have oscillations. bt this generalization, tile condition on the mono tonicity of rile potential is replaced by a more general condition [se e (6)].
