Abstract
Production of singlet oxygen by sanguinarine and berberine has been st udied from absorption spectroscopy measurements using dimethylfuran as the singlet oxygen acceptor. Comparative spectroscopic studies show t hat the rate of singlet oxygen generation of sanguinarine is higher th an that of berberine.
