Abstract
The results of excavating a trench to uncover fissures associated with the 1967 Koyna earthquake suggest that evidence of prehistoric earthq uakes can be preserved in fissures. Future paleoseismological investig ations can be used to seek evidence of prehistoric earthquakes in the Koyna-Warna area and at other locations.
